The Metropolitan

Built originally as a hotel c1880, the Metropolitan offers modern hospitality & service in traditional surroundings.

The bar stocks an impressive selection of beers, wines and spirits. And we have Pimms and cider pitchers available to share with friends. We provide table service throughout the venue so you can sit back, relax and soak up the atmosphere! You can enjoy watching the big Summer sporting events on our large outdoor screen at the stable bar. And don’t forget Champagne Fridays ~ a bottle of house Champagne only £20 all day!

Our beautiful conservatory restaurant overlooks the terrace or you can dine in the bar, on the terrace or in our library, featuring a beautiful beamed ceiling, open fire and bookshelves for a traditional homely atmosphere. The menu offers a wide variety of distinct home-cooked meals, and lighter platters are available for sharing with family and friends. We also have a separate Children’s menu for the smaller members of the family. On weekdays the restaurant has a tempting early evening menu between 5-7pm, offering two courses for £9.95 or three courses for £12.95.

We also have a breakfast terrace on Burton Road, open from 10am where you can enjoy a hearty English breakfast or cup of coffee and slice of homemade cake.

Function rooms are available to hire for special occasions. Hot or cold buffets can be tailored to your suit your requirements or you could try our traditional afternoon teas.
